This morning is the first this season to hear the House Wren’s call. Sadly, I spotted a *&()$#@( House Wren at the PROW nest box throwing out material. Went out and all 4 eggs found smashed on the ground below the box. Removed the whole box to keep that little *&()$#@( from trying to build in it. This is the second time in two years that a house wren has destroyed a PROW nesting. I removed all the other boxes or duct taped over the holes hoping to deter these little B’s. Maybe I should have tried a Wren Guard but there is no data that I’ve seen showing if PROWs will accept one or not. Last year this happened after the first egg was laid which was May 1st. This year all 4 eggs were already laid and it is 20 days later in the season. I would love to take a :bluelaser: and blast that little *&()$#@.

Oh my goodness…so glad that I rarely have wren problems here. I’m so sorry. That kills me …was so waiting for those eggs to hatch!

So so sorry, Renee! Wonder if they would accept the wren guard?
