I looked in my slotted nestbox this afternoon and found the bluebird couple that been in and out of the box for the past week have started a nest! While I’m very excited over this the weather here is suppose to turn back to the 50s degree range rest of the week. Today its in the low 70s and warm. It’s got to be confusing for these poor birds.

I don’t have a nest yet but thankfully mine seem to take forever to lay eggs in the first nest of the season. It is nerve wracking!

Congratulations Dana. I looked in my nest box today and found a beginning nest circle of grass also. Must have happened this morning as I just finished cleaning and reinstalling it yesterday.
