Oh, Rich. So sorry! Experience is how we learn these things. Really hope they give it another go. Don’t think you’ll have a problem with them accepting the spooker after 1st egg. My female hasn’t had a problem with it. Took the male a little longer. Wish HOSP had been left in Europe where they originated!
