We have 4 eggs as of yesterday in one of our boxes! Seems like the male too is getting used to the sparrow spooker. I saw him late yesterday afternoon flying away from it – feeding the female perhaps? Strangely enough that pesky HOSP has disappeared. Guess my husband’s yelling at him to leave worked :). We saw a BCCH (black capped chickadee) checking out yesterday – one can only hope! Will the spooker keep a HOWR out? I got my box of Cheezits at the ready to make wren guard but before I have my husband eat the whole box I just thought I’d check.

A spooker won’t work on a HOWR. It would be nice if it did though. He needs to get snacking or you can use any kind of box that will work with the dimensions of your box. A shoebox is also good. All you have to do with one of those is remove one of the long sides.

That’s a great idea, Gin! I’ll have to remember that if my HOWR come back this year!
