If I’m not mistaken, Kay Booth Lanier is the woman from the purple Martin fb group that I’m involved with that bought one of your boxes. You’ll be interested in her story. They put your box up and the pair of bluebirds was interested. One evening she went out to her car and found that the foot of the female bluebird was stuck between the trim and windshield of her car. The bluebird had already broken her leg. She rescued it but the damage is already done. Now there’s beginnings of a nest in your box. I’ll try to add photos later.

So she is building with a broken leg yet?

Remember my crazy momma blue that was the different shade of blue? That one year she broke her toe and still went on to build a really shabby nest (none of her nests were really that great) and laid 4 eggs. By the time they fledged she was doing much better.

I remember your crazy momma but don’t remember her broken toe.
Here she is building. This will make Fred happy when he sees it since it’s his box.
