Well, we had a terrible storm last night – were under a storm watch until about 11:00 p.m. Had a lots of tree limbs blow down all over Clinton, MO & probably lots of other towns. We have spent about 2 hours picking up the debris this morning – nothing major but have not checked our roof on the house but there are probably lots of roofs damaged all over town. I was VERY concerned about my two bluebirds which are due to fledge in about a week – I was watching close this morning and did not see papa (or mama) bluebird go to their nest and got very concerned – believing I may need to make a trip out of town to get some mealworms. BUT PAPA FINALLY CAME AROUND and had a bug in his mouth and brought it to their box and fed from the hole, wince the birds ard good size by now. AGAIN, LET NATURE TAKE ITS COURSE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!! I am learning this in my old age (of 79) that we need to do this if possible.

So sorry you had a storm but glad all is well. Very happy your baby bluebirds are safe and being taken care of by the parents. I’ve had a scare like that before too.

          Carol,

So true! Sometimes you have wait and monitor the situation before making any hasty decisions. Or let nature take it’s course as you mentioned. So glad to hear papa bluebird is still around to take care of them.
