Finally a set of BB’s seems to have taken up residence in the newest of two boxes I have on our property. It was quite stressful for a while. I had a HOWR show up and try to build a nest in that same box, so followed the advice of one of our members and plugged the holes on all the boxes except the Chickadee box. Then a few days later I saw 5 BB’s fighting over mealworms at the BB box so my husband removed all the plugs. I saw a couple BB’s since but these are the first that have taken up residence.
I now have the Chickadees, 6 Orioles or more, 2 sets of Thrashers, Robins galore, and my beloved Hummingbirds, and now the BB’s have made my Spring complete.
