June 13, 2021 at 8:47 pm #9317Hi Courtney and welcome back! Glad your blues have gotten started. As far as photos, someone else will chime in, as I do not post pictures any more and things have changed.
June 14, 2021 at 5:43 pm #9319To post pictures, you have to upload it to another website first that hosts photos. i have been using one called imgur.com, its free but there are others.
I upload the photo to that website, and when you click on your photo, on the right hand side it has choices for “view and edit post.” One of those is entitled, “BBcode,” for bulletin boards i guess. Click copy.
When you go back onto the bluebird form, click IMG at choices at the top of your post. a window pops up for you to enter the url, just paste that url in there from the imgur website.
When you post the message, you will see your photo. If you don’t like the way it looks or need to correct something, you can always go back and edit your own post.
Its confusing the first time.
Chris
P.S. I found out when you post a photo to imgur, you can choose either public or hidden. If you use the public option, any one on imgur might see your photo and comment on it. if you dont want that, choose the hidden option, and only you can see it on imgur apparently.June 14, 2021 at 11:15 pm #9320Sheesh that’s annoying, but thanks Chris… i was trolling your other posts and envyingy pics!

June 17, 2021 at 5:04 pm #9325Good to see you again. The posting of photos is a bit of a chore, but once you do it several times it becomes very easy.

Stafford, VAJune 29, 2021 at 9:06 pm #9404We had four eggs and happy happy blues and family…. Tonight we are very upset – wren attack…
Eggs are gone… mama and papa blue are still hanging out, i just tosseds sticks off the top of their nest… and now i am trying to figure out what to do??!!!
There is an empty box out there i saw them checking out and it seemed weird how they were acting so i checked their nest to find this news..:( Do i take the blues nest out , will they try to re use it? Do i leave it and try a wren guard… I actually have never had this issue before :(. HELP
June 29, 2021 at 9:24 pm #9405Oh, Courtney, so sorry about this attack. I’m not real sure about the nest that is there. I believe I would just take out the wren sticks (and keep doing this) and just leave a little of the blue’s nesting material so they will know it is theirs, especially if the blues are still hanging out. OR, maybe it is better to start with a clean box – other people please chime in here with your experience on this matter. Personally I have not had this happen because I usually have on a wren guard. It is hard to imagine those cute little wrens could do so much damage, but apparently they can. I have only had them toss the blues’ eggs on the ground a couple of times before I knew about the wren guards. Come to think about it, is it possible (since the eggs were not found on the ground if this is true) could it be a different intruder – maybe a coon or snake or cat especially if the box is mounted on a wooden pole? I’ve never heard of wrens actually removing the whole nestbox of eggs.
June 29, 2021 at 10:20 pm #9406I really hate wrens.
June 30, 2021 at 7:51 am #9407I’m so sorry Courtney. I hate wrens, too. I had one successful bluebird nesting this year. Then I had HOSP trying to take over the box and got rid of them. The wrens have been trying to take over ever since. I keep removing sticks from the box, and they won’t give up.
