Halleluiah – 5 new baby blues, one was born yesterday and the other 4 (I guess, couldn’t count good) hatched either late last night or today. The one hatched yesterday was at only 13 days, and I don’t believe I have ever had any hatch prior to the 14 day incubation period. This was very good news, due to my having to do a nest/box change because of the ant infestation described in a prior thread.

April 25, 2017 at 9:31 pm #3888Thanks all – and Tammy I’m sure glad you were able to make those TRES leave one box for the blues! Shame on them for being so selfish!
April 25, 2017 at 10:37 pm #3890Nicole, God was watching over those two! May they gave wonderful lives! Praying for their safe fledging!
April 26, 2017 at 1:49 am #3895Lisa- I hope yours hatch before you leave & your pet sitter can help keep watch. Keeping my fingers crossed!

April 27, 2017 at 9:09 pm #3923Yes, BZ – looks like our 5 hatched same day(s). The parents are already feeding them mealworms, as I watch them go from the worm cage feeder and back about 250′ to the nest box where the babies are. Really fun to watch the “worm train” with mama & papa taking turns at feeding! Hope our “Missouri Blues” make it to fledging and further, as well as all others watching and waiting for the same thing here on this forum.
April 30, 2017 at 3:44 pm #3975Carol congrats!!
