Halleluiah – 5 new baby blues, one was born yesterday and the other 4 (I guess, couldn’t count good) hatched either late last night or today. The one hatched yesterday was at only 13 days, and I don’t believe I have ever had any hatch prior to the 14 day incubation period. This was very good news, due to my having to do a nest/box change because of the ant infestation described in a prior thread.
My two (after 2 disappeared in early stages) should fledge Thurs. or Fri. when David’s & Lisa’s should hatch. I wish each one of you & your blues the best!
Yes, BZ – looks like our 5 hatched same day(s). The parents are already feeding them mealworms, as I watch them go from the worm cage feeder and back about 250′ to the nest box where the babies are. Really fun to watch the “worm train” with mama & papa taking turns at feeding! Hope our “Missouri Blues” make it to fledging and further, as well as all others watching and waiting for the same thing here on this forum.
