Great news…..but..!!

Well, my Female has reappeared!!! She came to the meal worm feeder yesterday, but I have waited to post to be sure it was her. I am convinced it’s her because she is hanging out on the wires with the Male who has been around since she went AWOL. Today, she was on the wire again with the Male and was joined by 5 or 6 juveniles, all hunting together. My neighbor’s pair were on the wire across from his house at the same time so I’m sure it’s her! The “bad” news (but not really!) is it appears there will not be a 3rd brood. It has been really hot, in the low 90’s with high humidity, and I think she is smart enough to know it’s too hot to be having another brood! I’m just thrilled she is still around! I assume she was off feeding her 2nd brood during her week long absence. (Just when you think you have these birds figured out!)

Glad she returned, Rich – yes, just like kids – can’t ever figure them out. I’m like you – we know “our” birds by their habits. A lot of times I spot one but too far to see even with binocs or something, but I know where they like to land and hunt, etc.
