Well, my beautiful 5 BB eggs are being incubated by mama as of yesterday. It got pretty cold last night (around 42 degrees) but tonight it is supposed to be 37 degrees, and of course, along with heavy winds. I am a little concerned about the eggs – considering closing up the ventilation vents. Any ideas?

Closing the vents might keep it a little warmer but I believe that the female bird will probably generate enough warmth for the nest since it is still above freezing. My concern would be the high winds.
      Good luck.

        She’s incubating! No worries.

I am hoping my backyard female broods her new chicks tonight. It’s going to be cold here, too.
