I have a completed bluebird nest!

No eggs yet, but they been busy all week building the nest. I’m hoping with the weather warming up a little this coming week that maybe eggs will show up. This is the earliest I have seen them build a nest here.

I’m excited!

Yeah, Dana – I too have a full nest built within the past couple days – we will be on the same time cycle. Hoping for that first egg within a day or two and then IMMEDIATELY the sparrow spooker will go up. Yes, something good in our lives (been quite a while) to look forward to.

Good to hear Dana and Carol. Mine looks like it is finished today. Mom bird seems to be spending time in it. It does seem to be a bit early but it is getting warmer in the evenings (mid 40’s and 50’s vs 30’s) so maybe it is time.
We wll see.

Hi Carol mine laid their 1st egg this morning. It would be really neat if ours were on the same nesting cycle.

Hi David it does seem like they are nesting a little earlier. Mine usually don’t nest until the second week of April. Wouldn’t it be nice if this were a bumper crop year for all the bluebirds?

I hope we’ll all be on the same schedule. I have a full nest and need to check for an egg today.
