Well I am finally starting to settle in. After 6 hours of disassembling, cleaning the parts, and filling them full of seed I am back in business. I also placed my first bluebird house up. (I’m a weee bit late) I went with an entrance guard, that I am told will keep snakes and raccoons clear of the house. It’s a metal looking cage that has sharp ends facing outward. I’ve placed it facing a clearing (East) and approximately 6 feet from a barbwire fence. It’s 5 and half feet off the ground. If I can figure out how to attach a photo I’ll show it.

Let me know if a bird accepts that guard. Many won’t go near something like that.

Better to have a raccoon baffle on the pole and move the box farther from the fence.

I’m curious as to how accepting the Noel Guard is too. It’s supposed to be effective, but I’ve just heard that the birds aren’t too accepting of it. Keep us posted!
