I was watching the DRST yesterday and saw 4 sparrows exit the holding cage and went in compartment under the elevator arm ! Got 3 back in but one escaped😩! I guess you can’t leave them in there too long.

Did they lift up the little flap to escape? I’ve watched them try and try to lift up that flap but have never actually seen them escape. I have had quite a few escape though…it’s heart wrenching!

Yes! I think one of them held it open while three others went out! I think maybe I had too many in cage for too long. Gonna try putting clear tape over bait on bait tray-see if I can’t get more birds to commit to the elevator

How thoughtful of that bird. LOL Why are you putting clear tape over the bait tray? So they can’t get to the seed easily? I would think that wouldn’t work. I think they won’t see the seed easy enough. But let us know. I haven’t trapped for weeks. Been gone from home so have to keep putting it away. I have 4 weeks here though, so I should put it out.

I put clear tape over seed on bait tray so they couldn’t get to it. Only caught two though.
              Oh well-the hunt continues :TwoHosp:
