      Hi all,
      The pair of bluebirds nesting in my slot box successfully fledged 3 baby blues! It was the 2nd nesting for them as I had seen them feeding their babies from the 1st brood at my mealworm dish. They fledged July 5th, hung around a few days and now they are gone. I do miss them but happy I was able to help add at least 3 more bluebirds to the population. Hope everyone is having a great summer!

        Congrats, Dana! It is kind of a let down when they “fly the coop, but also a relief in a way!

          I agree….I love watching them sit on the shepherds hooks waiting for bugs, watching the nest or playing in the birdbaths. I hope we’ll have them around until fall. They do not stay in my area all winter. September 1st was the last I saw them (last season), returned the 3rd week in April. Super exciting when they return!

            Mine fledged during Tropical Storm/Hurricane Barry today! They were 18 days old so it wasn’t premature but I thought for sure they would stay hunkered down during the torrential rains. All 5 out. 15 this year. It’s been a perfect season!
