Today was the day my first nest of Baby Bluebirds fledged. I did not get to see them take flight but saw the adults taking the mealworms into the trees. This evening there was still one chirping in the box but while I was out for my walk my husband saw it take flight all by it’s lonesome into a big pine tree, so hopefully they will all survive.
If it is not too bad tomorrow I will remove the old nest and clean the box, so it’s ready when Mama needs it again. :birddance:

Thank you Carol. So glad they made it through the freezing temps.

Thank you Dana, it was a little nerve wracking this year with the freezing temps and I was so relieved when I heard them cheeping when the mealworms were being delivered by the parents. Now they are in the trees so when this weather settles down a little I will clean out the box, ready for the next bout of bluebird joy.

Yay….Congratulations Connie. I think you are the first report of blues fledging this season. Hope you get to see them flying around your yard soon.
