      This year I am particularly struck by the vivid color of my female bb. I don’t have a good photo yet but every time I see her I almost mistake her for a male. Very blue and very orange. Does this indicate anything like maturity or health?

          Possibly genetics? Or depending on the weather – for example on sunny days the blue color is brilliant and vibrant. On cloudy rainy days the blue can appear duller not as vibrant.
