At this moment I’m happy to say I have 7 Tree Swallow eggs, and 5 Bluebird eggs which is the second round of 5 this year. That’s exciting enough for me!
Well my father got his first Bluebird egg of the season so we hung a spooker. While waiting patiently from afar for mom and dad to take to it, for about 2 hours, a beautiful bird flew over us onto his roof of his house. We looked at each other and said ” what the heck kind of bird was that?” After a closer look it was a beautiful Lovebird. I was able to talk it down to my hand, obviously it’s someone’s pet. I’m am currently searching for the owner with no luck but this “bird Nut” couldn’t be happier with the cutie!
How unbelievable for a lost soul to come straight to a “crazy bird lady!”
First, congrats on TRES & EABL eggs (& your dad’s)!
Second, that is absolutely amazing what you have encountered! Hope you find the owner. In the meantime, sounds like that Lovebird is in very good hands!
That’s crazy!! So fun. I had something similar happen with a parakeet years ago. It flew outside and was gone for a couple of days in rain and chilly temps (Florida type chilly). I was a teenager, and was calling for it one morning and it flew to a fence and it jumped on my hand and I took it in. Are you excited about keeping it if you can’t find the owner? Have you called the vets in your area?

I have searched everywhere and can’t find owner. We have certainly enjoyed him and looks like he found himself or her self a new home! Great little bird!
