Tammy, I think it must mean that no snakes have tried to access it yet. But I have other measures such a round metal pole that I was ignorant about when first starting out. The snakes are supposed to get trapped in the netting.

Yep. I know a lot of people, who use the netting. I wasn’t sure whether or not they would always get tangled if they tried to climb up. I don’t believe we have very many snakes here so people up here don’t use the netting.

The snakes here are horrible. Last year was just awful. I’m going to take down my houses this year if it’s another terrible year. I don’t want to lead them to their demise!

I think the snake netting works, Lisa. As long as it’s high enough and bushy enough. Sorry, you are having snake problems. I’m so glad we don’t have many up here. Only on one nest did I find a whole nest of newly hatched babies missing. One day they were there and the next day everyone was missing. The nest wasn’t messed up and so I thought it had to be a snake. That was the only time.

I had a successful brood last year after doing the netting. After 2 losses. Nothing more heartbreaking :(

I lost a brood 2 days from fledge last year! Awful! I will do everything to keep that from happening again!
