My batch of four…1 hatched 2 days ago, 2 yesterday, and I thought they were all out but a photo today reveals an unhatched egg. When to remove it? Sialis says 72 hours but their hatching has been spread out more than usual…
June 19, 2017 at 3:45 pm #4888My fledglings are so cute! Trying to peek at the new babies! But they can’t figure out how to get past the snake guard and wren guard. So they are sitting on the snake guard and sparrow spooker!
June 19, 2017 at 5:24 pm #4889Lisa, you can safely leave that egg where it is. No worries.

Atlanta, GAJune 22, 2017 at 10:11 pm #4964Thanks Gin! I figured I would just leave it. Before I had a box I could monitor it was common to find an unhatched egg left behind. Now I’m an obsessed nervous nelly.
June 25, 2017 at 9:26 pm #5026Lisa, do this another couple of decades and you won’t worry so much. I promise. I actually took my boxes “off the real estate market” this year because I didn’t have time for the wren issue.

Atlanta, GAJune 25, 2017 at 10:00 pm #5034Gin, it was so easy before I had boxes I could monitor. It all started by accident when I found a cute bird house that I hung as a decoration. The blues took it over and fledged many for several years until a snake came along and turned me into a nervous wreck. Now it’s poles, Kreuger traps, monitoring, stress, stress, and more stress. LOL. I yearn for the good old days!
June 25, 2017 at 10:02 pm #5035And after 15 years in my house I found a huge raccoon on my screened in deck last night. Never ever had a raccoon here. It’s always something!!
June 26, 2017 at 9:39 pm #5072Raccoons! They are literally everywhere. Everywhere. People who don’t think they have them are…wrong. Just ask the raccoons. One more thing about them. Some people think raccoons can’t jump. They can.

Atlanta, GAJune 27, 2017 at 12:21 am #5075I have greased my pole to the hilt but soooo worried!
June 27, 2017 at 12:23 am #5076I let the feral cat ladies feed the strays in my front yard. I’m sure that’s what attracted Rocky raccoon. I also have a fish pond to worry about. It’s always something!
