I have been thrilled to see a Bluebird or 2 sometimes perching regularly twice a day across the street way up in a fir tree about 250 feet away from my yard, but they just don’t seem to want to come any closer. I have a blue platform mealworm feeder on my front lawn within sight that the mockingbird sure found quick. Any advice in getting them to check out the feeder?
That is very nerve-breaking to see a bluebird down the street and not in your own yard! Don’t know what more to do since you have a feeder up (is it a cage feeder where large birds can’t get in?) Only suggestion is to be patient (hard to do I know). Good luck.
P.S. Maybe come nesting season they will remember your place.
Hi philly,
Have you seen whether the mockingbird has been chasing away the bluebird if the bluebird is not coming to it? Otherwise I’m not sure what else you can do. Maybe the bluebird hasn’t noticed the feeder yet. Just a guess..
