We’re in NE Florida and our first clutch concluded today with five babies fledging. The first four fledged within 7 minutes of each other and the fifth fledging 40 mins later. Mom and dad came to the box seven times over the 40 mins, presumably trying to encourage the last one to fledge. It was interesting to see how apprehensive the last one was, repeatedly coming to the doorway, before finally taking the plunge.

We can see our box mounted in the backyard from our living room and I had happened to see a head bobbing at the doorway prompting me to set up my camera. I was fortunate to subsequently catch video of everyone taking that big first step and flight.

I had captured another 15 mins footage to make sure there wasn’t another baby coming to the doorway and after about 3 hours checked the box to confirm no one was left behind.

Very happy for you. Mine are due to fledge tomorrow (Wednesday May 6). I hope to get photos also. :BlueHover:

Congrats. I’m in NW Ohio and I have two nests going on within sight of each other. One with eggs and one with hatchlings.
