      During a presentation on cavity nesters at the recent Florida Bluebird Society annual meeting it was mentioned (and commented on from the audience) that the house sparrow population is crashing. And not just in the US but also in Europe. The presenter said the cause hasn’t been determined yet. I hadn’t heard about this before now. Just passing along, and also to see what others know.

      The method of putting up two boxes when you have tree swallows competing with the bluebirds was also mentioned. I believe I’ve seen that mentioned here. Cool. A neat hack.

        We all know one main reason of the decline here. ;)
        I’ve heard this about HOSP the past few years. That’s wonderful.
        Yes Pairing Boxes works great for bluebirds and tree swallows and even purple martin colonies.
