      Hi All,

A blue bird pair nested in my nest box and had 4 eggs. It appears that 2 hatched and fledged. 2 remain as of this morning and the mom and pop are not making any more trips to the nest box. I am going to let it be but just want to check. Do you think the birds will create another nest on top of the eggs for the next brood?

I empty out the nest pretty quickly and any unhatched eggs, disposing of it well away from where the box is located. Clean the box, and Mama Bluebird will likely start building again—sometimes the next day. Check out this page–that question is asked below the bluebird pics: http://bluebirdnut.com/nesting-habits/ —-and congratulations on the successful fledging!

Thank you! Cleaned, dried and hung it back. I hope they will reuse it.

Good news. The bluebirds created a new nest and this morning I saw one new egg. I hope they will have a successful new clutch.
