      Hi – I am very curious aboit this new style of cedar bluebird box I see them selling at Lowes. It’s kinda strange looking…nice looking but different. Has anyone tried it?

          Looks very nice & efficient I think. It has a nice overhang on the top and side, guess there are air vents somewhere? Side opener? Cedar is a very durable wood – all my boxes we made out of cedar.

            It’s cute and has a nice design, but in my yard, HOSP would use that diagonal piece to clutch on and enter. Those pesky sparrows! I’d remove that diagonal piece of wood. Sparrows would sit on the roof of one of my boxes and lean down into the hole to bother chickadees, so maybe I’d remove that top strip, too. But that’s just me in this sparrow-plagued environment! I like the roof line a lot.

              Yeah seems too cutesy and I don’t understand the point of that diagonal piece. Sparrows ruin everything.
