Being in upstate NY I just get 2 per season. Since we bought the house 44 babies have successfully fledged. We had a nest of eggs abandoned one year due to losing the female but that has been the only issue in 6yrs…very fortunate💕

Donna, so great to have fledged 44 bluebirds! I hope you see the latest fledglings in your yard soon. It seems early enough in the season for them to surprise you with a 3rd nesting. Do they stay all winter in your area?

Hi Judy sorry for the late reply…yes they do typically hang around all winter although we do not see much of them…and lo and behold we just found a 3rd nest. They rebuilt in the 1st house…this is rare for us!

Third nest is great news! My first pair of blue started Nesting early this year, I’m hoping to get a 3rd nesting too. We’ll see…….their second nesting just fledged yesterday. Mama blue only waited 3 days in between her 1st nest fledging and starting a new nest for the second. Good luck with your new nest.
