      Well, I had 4 babies born Thursday, April 4, but one egg remains unhatched. How long do I need to leave egg in the nest – don’t want it to break and draw ants & mites? My thought is to leave it another day or 2 just in case it is a “late bloomer.” We did have some cooler weather during their incubation period.

        Congratulations on the hatch. I would leave the egg as you have suggested. If it has not hatched by the 3rd day after expected hatch it is probably not viable. You might even find that the female will have removed it.

          Thanks, David – supposed to have sun today and part of tomorrow so this should bring it out if it is every going to.
