Well, I have 3 new baby bluebirds – there were 4 eggs in the nestbox, so not sure what happened to the other egg – could be buried in the bottom and not hatched yet. This will be the second BB nest/eggs in the same box so am really excited and pleased. Hope others here are having good luck, also.
P.S. Two days ago we had a terrible wind storm here in mid-Missouri and I was worried all night about these eggs. We built all our own bird boxes, so they are good and sturdy and survived these storms. The parents are really good about feeding these babies, so I am not worried about them. They find food on the ground (bugs, etc). for the babies and seem to enjoy doing so. I stopped feeding mealworms last year and they seem to be doing real good with parents’ findings!
