Hi everyone. A few years ago when I lived in Holden Massachusetts (town just north of Worcester) I set up six bluebird houses on a large field owned by the town. I made them myself to replace a group of old decaying houses that someone else set up years ago and would periodically monitor them and keep them clean. Ive since then moved to Maine but didn’t leave anyone else in charge of them. What I am asking is; are there any users here in this forum that live in the area and would be willing to “adopt” them? Bluebirds and tree swallows both used the boxes and I never had trouble with HOSP, but just visiting once in the fall to clean the old nests out would be much appreciated.

United StatesMay 25, 2025 at 1:26 pm #28194I doubt very seriously that there is anyone on here from that area. This is a very small forum now. It used to be much larger. It would be best if you could get on Facebook and ask in one of those groups. Some of those have thousands of people following it.
Or I would contact the Massachusetts Bluebird Society. I’m just guessing that there is one. That would be a really good option also. If you do get on the Facebook groups, I’d be glad to recommend a few groups to join so that you can ask. But start with the Massachusetts Bluebird Association. https://www.massbluebird.org/Tammy

May 25, 2025 at 5:13 pm #28196I heard back from a member of the massachusetts bluebird association and learned that they have been disbanded for a while. Can you share those facebook groups with me please?
May 26, 2025 at 9:04 pm #28201Start with these. If you aren’t great navigating facebook I can walk you through finding people on the group from Massachusetts. Look me up. https://www.facebook.com/tamsea/
Bluebirds Unfiltered. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/16Sqvp4rVg/ I’m not super thrilled with the admin of this group but I searched on it and found several people from Massachusetts.
Eastern Bluebird Landlords https://www.facebook.com/share/g/19AL5bvFoP/ I know nothing about this group.
** BlueBird-L https://www.facebook.com/share/g/15on8VGscB/ I am a member of this group and I see they have several members from Massachusetts. This is a solid group.

May 26, 2025 at 9:27 pm #28203This is AI’s answer when I asked about Wild Birds Unlimited Stores near Holden, Massachusetts.
“Wild Birds Unlimited does not have a retail store in Holden, Massachusetts. The nearest locations are in Hanover, MA, Woburn, MA, and Sudbury, MA. These stores offer a variety of bird feeding products and expert advice. ”
Are any of these stores close enough?Tammy
