I see references to posting photos from 2016. Is it still necessary to use a separate service to post photos on this forum?

I don’t normally post photos, but if you look under participant “ David in Stamford, Va” on April 25, 2023 he wrote a helpful post on how to post photos from your phone. Thank you David for doing the post, I saved it for next time I have a picture.Judy – Michigan
May 18, 2023 at 9:52 pm #27248I’m so sorry …..I did not notice auto correct change the spelling of David’s city. It should read “David in Stafford, VA”

May 19, 2023 at 11:39 am #27252Thanks Judy. I couldn’t find anything searching for his name or “posting photos”. So I am going to try using another forum’s database as a test…

May 19, 2023 at 3:42 pm #27256Glad you figured out how to post pictures. Pictures look great. Your mama blues built a very tidy nest. Nice feeder within eye sight of the bluebird box. Your area looks perfect for bluebirds! Thanks for sharing, happy birding.

May 20, 2023 at 11:09 pm #27259Don’t mean to be picky, Tim, but you should really put a baffle on that narrow nestbox pole to keep the “critters and snakes” out.
Like your photos. your posting system seems to work.David
Stafford, VAMay 20, 2023 at 11:51 pm #27260David, thanks for the suggestion. I’ll take all suggestions, picky or otherwise since I am new to these Bluebird trail efforts. I do hope that our snake population is limited vs southern states. I’ve researched on two web sites that don’t seem to stress the need for baffles. Actually, I don’t see any reference to using them in WI and MI. Those being BRAW.org and michiganbluebirds.org.
I’ve been very busy putting up nest boxes and thought I would start to put up those types of deterrents after I finish that work. As of right now The nineteen boxes have just one pair of bluebirds, a couple pairs of Tree Swallows and possibly a pair of Eastern Kingbirds. I’ll work on those first as the boxes get used.
I did have a happy surprise today. After many years absence a pair of Great Crested Flycatchers has taken up residence in a box in our yard. I love their screeching call!

June 8, 2023 at 8:55 am #27298So what did you end up using to post photos? Just wondering if it’s easier.
So cool about your Great Crested Flycatcher. I would love to have one!Tammy
June 8, 2023 at 9:19 am #27300My method is probably not for most people. I am a member of a teardrop camper forum and they host their own photos on the site. It creates a “Image BBCode” (I don’t know how that is different from JPEG). Anyway, if you are a member of a forum that uses that format when you post photos there you may be able to copy and paste here.
I try not to overdo posting bluebird related photos there when they have nothing to do with campers. Maybe bluebirdnut could look into offering that option, but, I suspect it is a costly upgrade.

June 16, 2023 at 9:37 pm #27324Tim, Here is the text from the April 23 post about posting photos from “imjur” (a free photo service online) for your information. Glad to answer any questions if you are interested in this route.
===========================================
This procedure will help you post photos from your phone to this forum if you use it on The Bluebird forum.
I am assuming that you have your photos on your phone.
Download and install the imjur mobile app to your phone. Upload your photos to imjur.
Prepare your post in the forum. DO NOT CLOSE!
1. Open the imjur app. From the homepage, tap the “contact” icon in the bottom right corner (circle and oval) This should take you to your photos.
2. Tap photo to post.
3. Tap “share” or the share arrow in the lower right corner.
4. Click “Copy Link”.
5. Go back to the forum and paste your link. You will not see the photo here.
6. When you finish your post, tap “submit+.
You will see your post and photo in the thread above.-
