Sparrow nest box

Finally had some sparrows inspecting birdhouse yesterday.Do they prefer a clean box or should I put some feathers and cellophane trash in to entice them

During nesting season they prefer some feathers. Even one sticking out of the hole makes them investigate. In the fall, they’ll go in sometimes but nothing like they will late winter, early spring. I have a hard time catching them in a box in the fall.
