I’m interested in a spotting scope to keep a long distance from birds and possibly doing some amateur photography. Do any of you have a recommendation for a decent quality spotting scope that won’t empty my wallet? I’ve visited several birding sites and they all seem to recommend scopes in the many hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars range. I’m really looking at finding an acceptable spotting scope, new or used, that I can have a little fun with and cost is around $100 to $200. I won’t be posting photos online or attempting to appear as though I’m a professional.
Any thoughts? Thanks, Tim
PS: I’ve read about “Digiscoping” and that seems like a good way to play amateur photographer.
