STILL NO BB NESTS – BUT MAYBE FOR THE BEST

Well, like many other places, our Missouri weatherman has not been told that it is spring! Have had several below freezing nights ever since April came in. My pair of blues are definitely around and interested, but no nest yet. The HOSP are also interested, as they are trying to claim 2 of my 4 boxes. This will definitely be the latest I have had eggs – but that is okay since it is this cold. Wednesday and Thursday we are supposed to be in the 70’s – maybe they can hurry up and build somewhere. This will be my 11th year of bluebirding and have not missed having eggs in all those times – would sure be disappointed if that did happen this year. Best of luck to everyone this season!

Terrible spring in Philly! Low 40s past mid April????

Have patience, poor freezing people! My first nest fledged last Wednesday! Bear with me when I freaking about the heat this summer if they keep going like they did last year..

Go ahead – rub it in Lisa! (Ha, HA) Yes, we had one nice 70 degree day and then had snow last Sunday and very cold again today. Bob – glad to hear from you – hopefully this Missouri weather will shape up soon!
