      My very prolific pair of bluebirds had five eggs in their third clutch. Three eggs had hatched by July 27. I would have thought the others would have hatched by now (Aug 1). Should I remove them after a certain point? If so, how long should I wait?

        If they have not hatched by now, they are probably defective or non-viable eggs. I think that I would remove them before the other birds get too much larger and break the eggs in the nest.

          Thanks. I removed them – and they were not viable (transparent in front of a bright light). Glad I did.

            Good to hear that you got them out. It will give the remaining three a bit more room to develop.
