Yes, I had house wren issue last year grrrrr. Black snake wintered in box one year. Racoons another year. I guess not too bad for a 16 year run.
First time to lose my mama bird though.
I always have to remind myself. It’s nature & everyone has to to eat.Ah…the ol 10 minute rule…lol.

Today is the first day he hasn’t called & gone back & forth to the nest frantically. Guess he finally gave up.
I will take the nest out tomorrow as there is no sign of mama. I’m just gutted 😭
We raised the pole to 8 or 9 feet a few years ago and kept it greased. I was gone this spring and failed to grease it. I will look into a baffle. We’ve been lucky to have had 2 boxes with 2 to 3 nestings a year for 16 years.
Also, how do you edit a post? I could never figure it out.David, I don’t know? It’s been 19 days since the first egg 4 was laid, I’m worried about all of them now!😓
This year has been crazy! I have SIX eggs in one house (first time ever over 4 years) but my other house had 4 and one day I found an egg outside and looked and I only had 3. (raccoon most likely) anyway, today 6 days later, I looked, as it is time for them to hatch and there are 4 eggs. OMG what is going on?? Has anyone ever heard of laying an egg six days later. If I didn’t have someone here that saw it too I would think I am going bluebird nuts….lol
Seriously though, Its got me perplexed!!!!!
