Doing a happy dance here. Incubation started Tuesday so maybe chicks in a couple of weeks. Last year she was not successful and I’m hoping she has better luck this time.

I am happy
with you. Five white eggs is exciting. Keep us updated on the progress of the nest.
Connie (PA)April 6, 2019 at 12:22 pm #7037Good for you. Mine are still waiting. In and out of the box but no nest as of this morning.

Stafford, VAApril 6, 2019 at 12:43 pm #7039Ditto here David, in fact I see them do that at both boxes, in and out but no nesting material.
Connie (PA)April 7, 2019 at 5:53 am #7045Same here David and Connie. I seen a pair of bluebirds investigating my nestbox 2 days ago but no nest yet. It must still be too chilly, rainy? Although today and tomorrow suppose to be warmer here in Pa…60s and 70s. By the way, Gin congrats on the 5 bb eggs!
April 14, 2019 at 7:52 pm #7064Great news, Gin! My pair have started a nest for no eggs for now, which is a good thing. We had a couple of very nice days but then a cold spell, but this week is supposed to be nice again. White eggs would be really exciting, since they are fairly rare.
April 16, 2019 at 7:06 am #7080Planning to check for hatching today if I get a minute. Yes, Carol, I know white eggs are not typical. Seeing them is what prompted my happy dance!

May 22, 2019 at 3:40 pm #7295Thanks Tam. They all fledged also. Did I see that? Nope.
They have started another nest but the HOWR are out and about. I am trying to keep them “occupied”.

Atlanta, GAMay 23, 2019 at 8:44 am #7301Cool Gin your white egg babies fledged. Know what you mean by keeping wrens occupied. They have a box here they want close to my BB’s, so I keep them occupied by removing their few sticks.
May 23, 2019 at 11:58 am #7307Is that what you all are doing? Just continue to remove sticks? I don’t have a problem, but my friend does.

May 27, 2019 at 5:21 pm #7327Yes, right now my bluebird pair is trying to claim their 2nd nest box and I have both wrens and HOSP that want everything! I have four boxes in my area so I am trying to be sure the blues get at least one for their 2nd nesting! I have been trapping HOSP, removing sticks, etc. for the past two weeks almost. Sure hoping to see my new fledglings soon at the worm bowl – maybe in a day or two.
May 29, 2019 at 9:02 pm #7338Tammy, I was removing sticks but I got busy and she laid an egg. Guess how much I stomped around about that! Somehow that egg disappeared and a couple more showed up. She must be incubating infertile eggs because she’s been going at it for quite some time now.
