Leave them alone for a couple of days and look what happens. Looked in Saturday and didn’t see anything but she must have laid the first one later in the morning. Projected hatch May 15.

GREAT – I told you they were just being stubborn, David! Think she is stopping at 3 eggs?

Thanks Carol. No, she is not sitting on the eggs yet so we should see 1 or 2 more. It is still cool in the evening so that concerns me a bit. At least we have a brood before Memorial day.

There was supposed to be a photo with that last post. Don’t know what happened. It has been raining all day today and I did not get to see if there was a 5th egg. Will try tomorrow.
      Here is that 4th egg.

There is a 5th egg and she is now sitting. I saw the male on the shepherd’s hook with a grub to take to the box but mama left the nest before he could get it to her. That is when I took the photo of the eggs. She was back about 15 minutes later.

So now we wait for a couple of weeks. :bluebird2:

David, enjoyed your photos. Spring is finally here‼️ The excitement of the first nesting of the season……is always special. Good luck.

        Happy May Day,

Judy, Carol and all, yes, lots of excitement in this first sitting. And the weather seems to be having trouble deciding what it is going to do – cool, cold , hot. There is no pattern at all. I have seen both birds today on the shepherd’s hook but mama bird just stays a little while and goes back in. It is still cool even though the temps today were in the 60’s wind chill brought them down.

Great David. Hope they all make it. Mine have just hatched, looks like 4 to me.
