Thought all was well, until I decided to open the boxes up yesterday. A female bluebird was in the one box dead. I thought house sparrow at first but she had no injuries that I could find. So depressing! I suppose she died during a cold night or something. Hope the male comes back with a new mate soon.

Sorry – that is sad. Was she incubating or just building a nest or what?

No…no nest yet. She had a mate.

Gosh. So so sorry! Are there pesticides on lawn nearby? Surely, he’ll find a new mate soon!
            Sorry for your loss!

Not sure. There’s a golf course on one side and a housing development on the other. I thought maybe disease or cold weather? So bummed. Haven’t seen any since.

I could hear one singing this evening. Hope we’re back in business soon.

So sorry. It usually doesn’t take long for them to find a mate.

Grrr. Still nothing. Please God? Exciting though in my yard a swallow pair has started a nest in my front yard. First time I ever got anything other than chickadees. Soooo excited. But I need my bluebirds back at the park!
