this is the first year i’ve trapped early in the spring.
noticed the female hosp almost looks like a female purple house finch
if it wasn’t for the stripe behind the eye, and plain chest
it would be a match. Even the beak is black like the male hosp
here’s a photo i borrowed from the net. about as close as i could find
