Great beginnings

Good Morning Everyone:
I checked out the nest yesterday before we left for a few days at the cabin and it looked like 5 fuzzy babies have emerged. I am a bit worried, it is going to get pretty chilly here again in NW PA, temps down in the 30’s with rain and possibly snow flurries. We left the insulation on 3 sides of the box so I am hoping that will help hold the heat till it warms up again.
So happy to hear about the eggs in the nests Judy, Carol and David. This is the beginning of a good season as far as I can see.
Love the pictures David and I am going to give Imgur a go again and see if I can post some myself.

Congrats, Connie – looks like you might have the first hatch of the forum this year. My 5 eggs are into day 3 of incubation, so I am anxiously waiting. I bet the insulation you put on your boxes (which you probably need there in PA) will help with the cooler weather.

Thanks Carol. I must admit I was shocked when I saw the nest being constructed so early, but I figured mama must know what she is doing. I am hoping the insulation does the job, it worked during that bitterly cold spell to preserve the eggs back then, and hope it will do the same for the hatchlings.
I tried doing the Imgur that David uses so I could post pictures but no cell service here so they can’t send me the code needed to join. 😔

Good to hear about the hatch. It is still cool here in Virginia but seems to be warming up in the next few weeks. Does imjur have an option to send your “code” via email or landline telephone call?
I am going to look at the page.

Hi David:
The code finally arrived in my phone but by then the option to enter it had expired. They have both my email and cell number, but I might have to wait to get home to finish the registration.
