Hi Everyone:
I am so
to report one beautiful blue egg was laid today
. My only concern is our weather for the next couple days. They are calling for snow flakes and scattered frost tomorrow night and Monday morning. I am hoping they are wrong for I fear those temps will jeopardize any eggs. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Connie (PA)April 27, 2019 at 10:56 pm #7130Connie, she should be okay with the temps. She will probably sit all night and into the morning hours if no one bothers her. The male might even bring her breakfast.

I didn’t know she would do that before incubation started, but it definitely relieves my mind.
Thanks,
ConnieApril 28, 2019 at 7:24 pm #7133Connie, Congratulations on your first egg!!! Hopefully all the bad weather is bypassing you. They were predicting a lot of snow for us last night, but it missed us. Did you get a second egg today?

April 29, 2019 at 4:01 pm #7135Hi Judy:
I did have the second egg yesterday but I did not open the box, it was so chilly and windy. I just assumed that when I saw egg #3 mid morning today. I do believe she has started incubating them as I see her in the box with her beak or whole head protruding from the hole. I was hoping there would be a clutch of 5 or 6 but I am thrilled to have what I have.
We avoided the snow, but at 6:00 AM today there was frost on most surfaces and
27 degrees🙁. I have no way of knowing if the two eggs will make it or not but in a few weeks I will know for sure.
Keep good thoughts for a new male
and give those nasty
a run for their lives.
