Help- Have birds abandoned nest?

Yesterday I saw bluebirds going in and out of the nest box. I checked the box as usual on Sunday’s and saw a nest but have yet to see any bluebirds today. Have they abandoned the nest they just built? Thanks for the help

I don’t think they would have abandoned if they have built a nest and shown that much interest. Mine sometimes start and stop building and depending on the pair they may be sneaky when going to and from the nest. Give it some time and they likely will be back.

Now if there is NO nest then thy could just be visitors. With a nest? I think they will be committed and will come back.

Phew that’s a load off my mind. I was wondering me checking the nest could’ve scared them off. It has been kinda chilly today but I’m just so excited for them, I was worried.

Na, a quick nestcheck should not deter them at all. If they like the box they will come back.

Now if you stood there banging a gong _all_ day…that may be a different story ;)

I don’t see any reason to think they have abandoned this nest. They are probably just taking a tiny break from building. No worries. If the nest looks totally complete they are off playing the mating game. In that case expect an egg soon.
