Here is a photo I finally caught this morning of one of the babies peeking out the hole in the bird house.
Last year they did this for a couple days then all fledged. Today is the second day I have seen them doing
this, but couldn’t get a photo yesterday they didn’t peek out long enough or out fare enough to catch a shot of one.
Again we have BAD storm warnings coming today and tomorrow and I hope the 4 of them don’t get hurt fledging during it all.
Has anyone here had babies fledge during a bad storm, I’d like to hear how things went.
      Thanks,
      Dene

Mine hunkered down during the bad storm we had 2 nites ago but they are only a week old. I was terrified the house would blow over. All 4 look great and sprouting some feathers!

My babies are chirping SO loud this year! I am always worried about predators and I feel like I am guarded to the hilt but this joyful bunch scares me….Otherwise happy blues!!!

Dene, it seems like fledge day here is always during a scary storm day and I have never lost one that I know of. On the other hand, I always miss the fledge!

Goodness Dene, its done me so much good to see a picture of your baby blue. Our weather is so spastic, rain, snow, cold, wind and even a spattering of warmer days. I don’t think I have even a slim chance of seeing any BB’s neseting till sometime next month. The lasts prediction for us is for another 4 weeks of wet, cold weather. Hopefully after this period is over I will be lucky enough to see a pair of blues take up residence in one of my bluebird houses.

They ALL must have made it during our storm as the box was empty after I was able to go check there to see. I also checked all over the yard and seen nothing out of order so they All must have done ok.
NOW the Mom and Dad are doing it AGAIN
Building another nest going in and out like crazy today and here is a video I took today called.

Cool. That’s a male house finch that is up on that fencing.
