      Hello to Everyone:
I am so happy to say the babies are coming down out of the trees and feeding either alone or with one parent at the feed dish. What a delight to watch them. I was surprised to see they were almost as big as the parents now. I still see Mama and Papa going in and out of the nest box but nothing in there as of now. I kind of thought maybe they think they still have babies in there to feed. I am hoping it is a courtship thing and that I get to see two broods in one year but I will have to wait and see.

Isn’t that fun to watch Connie – when the babies come to eat at the worm dish. I have my first brood doing this and yes, they are as big as their parents – been about 3 weeks since they fledged. My 2nd nesting is due to fledge in about 4 or 5 days – sure will be relieved as this hot spell has been really bad for about 2 weeks.

Carol, it has been 10 days since they fledged here. I don’t know how many are left I only saw one today, we had a terrific storm last night, it poured down rain, wind blowing so I worried how they were going to make it. Today I only saw one with the parents but both are taking food up into the oaks, so I am hoping all 6 are OK.
It has been blistering hot here too with high humidity, which broke today. I hope your weather improves too. I thought maybe this pair was going to rebuild another nest but so far that has not happened. I am not giving up hope, and will keep my eye on the proceedings.

Third nest are 18 days old today and I have one day off. Mom and dad are feeding them like crazy this morning. I have a feeling it’s not today. Boo…I always miss it!
