There are 14 compartments, each with a 2 section nest side in box.

I believe you nailed it. House wren.
The Sialis piece described what I have to a “T”.
Controlling nature seems like an impossible task.

Crazy, stupid question – but here is – what is a T-14?

Sorry, I thought I was the last to find out what a T-14 is.
It is a purple Martin house. I built one over the winter.
It is a four sided bird house. It has 14 houses, each with two rooms. A front compartment and a rear nest box. It is huge. A boat winch and cable raise it on a 14 ft post.
I would post a pic, but don’t know how.

Tammy, thanks for the feedback/info. I’m on a steep learning curve.

My trap is baited with pop corn and millet. Some popcorn is on the top of the cage to draw them in.
I have had a suction cup seed feeder on our kitchen window for years. It is a very busy feeding station, mostly sparrows. Just below it is a forsythia bush neatly trimmed (flat top).
I’m considering taking down the window feeder and placing the trap on to of the bush.

Yesterday I cleaned out the t-14 of nests, eggs and peeps. Today it is busier than ever with nest building flights.

Question; If the sparrow population is severely reduced, and no Purple Martins are in the area, what birds would nest in a T-14?

              Thanks, Ron

Checked my bb nest box today and found the 5 eggs smashed on the ground.
I guess I’m too late with Mylar tape.
My new sparrow trap was set up this afternoon.
Baited with popcorn and black sunflower seed.
Can’t wait to get a couple of those suckers.
Hosp has completely taken over my T-14. Will throw everybody out tomorrow.
Not sure who will move in. The PM’s are probably done nest selection by now.
BB won’t use it. Don’t know who will live there.

Sparrow Spooker? Not sure what that is.
I have a trap arriving tomorrow to reduce the HOSP population.
They are swarming my T-14 house.
                  Thanks for all the help.

I did notice the slippery surface. LOL
                    I’m located in eastern Pa.
While cleaning out a Purple Martin T-14 house that has House Sparrows plaguing it,
I saw speckled eggs similar to the one I’m asking about.
But the speckled egg among blues ones raised the question.
Possibly House Sparrows lay eggs in strange nests as Cow Birds do.

Yes, there it is; second from left.
Will another bird lay eggs in the nest?
