I took my chihuahuas out this morning and heard a chorus of baby birds above my head. When I turned and looked up, there were seven TRES babies lining my rain gutter. They are simply beautiful. The adults were predictably swooping and dive-bombing me. They are still going to the birdhouse, so I don’t know if there are any more in there or not!

I have read that the babies do “exercises” with their wings to prepare them for a long migratory flight. I stood and watched as they repeatedly extended and flapped their little wings over and over again. I wonder how long they will stick around?

Anyway, I am very excited about these little ones, and I just wanted to share. . .

If I can figure out how to do it, I will try to post some photographs. I have some cool pictures of the bluebirds and TRES coexisting in their respective homes.
