Thank you, Fred!
Nicole
I had to remove mine since it seemed to scare the male. Then, I reintroduced it again (row by row) & he was fine. You may have to be gradual about it. Hope it works out!

My male wasn’t around very much during the egg laying cycle. Have you seen him yet?

I put my sparrow spooker up this year after 2nd egg ( didn’t know until there were two) & female accepted right away. The male was more apprehensive at first, so I did just what Gin suggested. I tied up the 1st 2 rows after I noticed & then let down a row each day. He now sits on top of it while she is in the box. Just took him a little longer, but all is well now.

Hope you see the male again!

I hang a little dish with mealworms in it on the pole below house & above baffle. I only do this when I can keep watch, though, so they don’t attract predators. I always remove the dish when sun goes down. Use it most when we’re having lots of rain. That could be helpful to a single mom, so she doesn’t have to leave the nest site as much. Wild Birds Unlimited has a dish on a hanger that fits on the pole. Again, would only recommend for certain situations.

So so sorry that happened! That stinks!

Couldn’t see it either, but glad they’re back!

That’s so cool that you have white eggs!

May want to put up a wren guard & a sparrow spooker once you get an egg. So glad they’ve chosen your other house. Best of luck!

That’s great, Cher! I’ve got six 12-day old nestlings. The runt is really far behind, though. Thought about taking the little thing to a rehabber, but not going to take it away from mom & dad. Hope the little one makes it!

Do you have the house on a pole & a baffle on the pole? That should at least help keep the cat from eggs/babies. Also, make sure it’s not close to a tree or a fence. That’s probably all you can do besides talking to your neighbor & asking them if they could confine the cat. That may be asking a lot according to your relationship with your neighbor.
