Looks like it for sure. My guess is either the TRES started laying and stopped and the bluebird took over or vice versa.

This is AI’s answer when I asked about Wild Birds Unlimited Stores near Holden, Massachusetts.
“Wild Birds Unlimited does not have a retail store in Holden, Massachusetts. The nearest locations are in Hanover, MA, Woburn, MA, and Sudbury, MA. These stores offer a variety of bird feeding products and expert advice. ”
Are any of these stores close enough?

Here’s some phone numbers from that disbanded group. Maybe one of these people could help? https://www.massbluebird.org/contact-us/

Start with these. If you aren’t great navigating facebook I can walk you through finding people on the group from Massachusetts. Look me up. https://www.facebook.com/tamsea/

Bluebirds Unfiltered. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/16Sqvp4rVg/ I’m not super thrilled with the admin of this group but I searched on it and found several people from Massachusetts.

Eastern Bluebird Landlords https://www.facebook.com/share/g/19AL5bvFoP/ I know nothing about this group.

** BlueBird-L https://www.facebook.com/share/g/15on8VGscB/ I am a member of this group and I see they have several members from Massachusetts. This is a solid group.

Cool about your Great Crested Flycatchers! I would love to have one. I just photographed one at our Metro Park last week.
I agree. I do not like House Wrens AT ALL. I’ll take a House Sparrow over a House Wren every time!!

I doubt very seriously that there is anyone on here from that area. This is a very small forum now. It used to be much larger. It would be best if you could get on Facebook and ask in one of those groups. Some of those have thousands of people following it.
Or I would contact the Massachusetts Bluebird Society. I’m just guessing that there is one. That would be a really good option also. If you do get on the Facebook groups, I’d be glad to recommend a few groups to join so that you can ask. But start with the Massachusetts Bluebird Association. https://www.massbluebird.org/

Congratulations! You might want to check earlier than you think. I had the same thing going on and checked and found a complete new bluebird nest. And now I have one egg. Last week I didn’t even know they were building.

If you have house sparrows around I wouldn’t wait. They’ll go in and remove the eggs. If you’re not seeing them you’ll probably be fine until all the eggs are laid. It’s a risk you have to decide if you want to take. But trust me, they will get used to the sparrow spooker.
Normally they will not go in a nest after they’ve laid an egg for the day. They don’t want to draw predators to the nest. They’ll go in the next morning to lay another egg. So if you see them not going in it doesn’t mean anything. The telltale sign will be if you have an egg the next day. Check in the afternoon.

I think that is wise. The HOSP will probably have eggs by then.
The only downside to that is that you’ll have to tear out half of the nesting material to make it so the Trap works. And then the house sparrows are a little skittish but they are totally committed to that Nest box with eggs in it so it should be fine.

BZ-W ….what happened? I’m dying to know. If she laid a second egg in the other box then move the lone egg to that nest.
