I have also used the reptile kind you’re talking about with vitimin D, got it from petsmart. Prob wouldn’t hurt.
Fyi everyone on Imgur pics: you can post multiple images at once. If you look up at my post w two babies and two eggs, you’ll see a faint white arrow to the right within the pic. If you click on it you can click through them, then click back w arrow on the left. It’s cool to see the daily changes and feather growth!
I stick my phone into the box and get pics. We’ve got a unique setup where the box is on a pole stuck into a raised bed, so I just hop up onto the ledge and can open and look in; hard to see entire contents down into the nest but can easily get pics and vids. Wonder if we can post vids here thru Imgur or with another app?

Here’s another one after two hatched. If you use earbuds or headphones and turn volume way up, you can hear the other two pecking their way out (tune out wind and other background noises; listen for faint tapping sounds). Maybe this will give ppl a BB fix until their birds and nests come around!

Wow so cool! Can’t wait for the eggs in my box to hatch, def cool watching these. I just hope everything goes well would be really hard to watch if something happened to one of them.
Oh that’s true, didn’t think about that possibility. We’ve been lucky— haven’t dealt with any house sparrows that I know of. We have some house finches though. Their singing is so beautiful, gives BB singing a run for its money!
