it looks like you’re posting a link to your image on google. If you are logged in and can see it, but others can’t, it’s probably because only you have the permissions to view that file.
A much easier way is to go to imgur.com and upload your photo. You don’t even need an account. Then it will give you a very simple URL for the photo to use here that everyone can see.
Thanks Gin!
It’s interesting how last time I didn’t see either bird much, but the male seems to be always around the box area this time around. I quit putting seed in the feeder in the backyard so it’s not full of HOSP and chickadees, so maybe they are more comfortable this time with less birds in the general area.
They finished the nest today. Only 14 days after the last brood fledged. We will see if they lay eggs soon.
I’m putting up another box in the backyard in hopes that chickadees or something desirable will use it. Last time I had a box back there HOWR kept filling it up with sticks so we will see. Any tips on location for carolina dees vs HOWR?
Thanks for the info. I’ll toss that nest.
Couple other questions (they just keep popping up and I like learning)
I see the male near the box a lot this time around. There is one baby hanging around with him. I don’t really see the female (I don’t look that often, but she’s obviously building a nest rapidly). Is it likely that the other 3 babies didn’t make it in the wild? Or are they off somewhere else happily thriving?
My granddad gave me a second box that I’m going to put up in my backyard. I would like to get chickadees in it (I know they are done for this year). Are they more tolerant of being a bit away from brush? I have HOWR in the backyard and don’t want to put it somewhere that I have to keep removing nests. I have a spot I would like to put it, but there isn’t a lot of dense brush nearby. Are there any other considerations or birds I should look to have (I’m in NC).
The nest still has a decent shape. Should I still throw it away? I saved it for an emergency but will toss it if advised to.
I came back home from a trip and a new nest is several days into construction. Looks to be a second round, although not sure if it would be the 2nd or 3rd brood in NC this time of year.
Mom, dad, and at least one baby have been seen around. I don’t look at the area often. I took this pic. Can anyone tell if it’s a male or female baby? Looks to be a bright blue, but there isn’t much of it. I couldn’t tell that any were clearly males in the nest.

imgur.com is the easiest to use for me. It will provide you the link to use here. You want the link to the actual image that ends in .jpb, not the url to the imgur page.
Here’s an example using the link http://i.imgur.com/U9u7v0C.jpg and the img tag from the editor on this site:

My parents had a nest built on top of a chickadee nest. It went unused for a few weeks. They removed it and a week or two later they rebuilt and laid eggs. Only one experience, but they will rebuild if they want to use the box I believe.
I just want to say thank you to everyone here for all the help. I’ve had 4 babies successfully fledge – 2 yesterday and the last 2 today. I only saw one flying around the yard briefly, so mom and dad must have herded them off where they want to protect them quickly and easily.
I really appreciate all the help here. I saved the nest in case I ever need to change one out and my box is ready and cleaned out in case anyone else wants to use it.
All is still well with all 4 babies. One egg hatched May 21. The others were there the morning of May 22. Looks like they should fledge Wed, maybe Thurs or Fri. I quit opening the box several days ago but the parents are still both feeding quite actively.
Do they usually fledge in the morning or is it random?
How long after they fledge should I clean out the box?
Could you keep her in the trap with food and water until you get a positive ID next time? I’m considering getting a DRST. What’s your capture rate with them?
I have lots of HOSP around and a family with several young hanging out in my backyard. What other birds do you commonly catch?
First egg was May 5. Last was May 8. I figured they should hatch May 21-23. I just checked the box and saw this, but had no mom or dad in the box or around when I looked:

Should they all hatch today or might some not hatch until tomorrow?
How long should the sparrow spooker and wren guard remain on the box? I remember saying day 4 or 5 for the wren guard but I don’t remember about the spooker.
Anything else I should do, not do, etc.?
I believe this is the photo you were trying to post:

I haven’t been around to watch much, but I don’t often see the male around. Is that normal?
The female is often not in the nest box during the day when it’s in the 80s, which seems to be normal. She is there when the temp gets cooler. But I see the male (or at least a male…not sure it’s the same one) here and there, across the street on the house or on a neighbors house. But he doesn’t hang out in the trees right next to the box, best I can tell. Is that normal?
Eggs are still there and accounted for.
Is this one of them?

Brad.
I checked yesterday expecting to find a 5th egg, but there were only 4. There was also a little bit of white something on the top of one of the eggs. She spent most of the time in the box yesterday.
Is it normal to only lay 4 eggs? It seems like she started incubating yesterday. If that is the case, would that make the 23rd the hatch day?
Should I check the box daily or leave it alone during incubation? Here it’s in the 70s-80s during the day right now.
2 of the recent days I opened the box, the female was in there. I don’t like disturbing her unnecessarily.
